Dawn considers her role as Praise & Worship Team Leader at FBC to be a great blessing and a natural outworking of her love for the Lord and for people.
A graduate of Quincy High School, Dawn also attended Spring Arbor University and received a BA in Instrumental Music Performance as well as a K-12 Instrumental Music Teaching Certificate. She also received a K-8 teaching endorsement from Western Michigan University and a certificate as a Worship Leader from Liberty Baptist University.
Prior to her retirement from public education, Dawn taught music and art in the Coldwater Public Schools. She also developed her own business “Elena Designs” producing jewelry and hand-painted scarves. Always tweaking her creative and artistic skills, Dawn has also worked in ceramics and other art forms.
She plays several different music instruments, specializing in piano and keyboards and woodwinds. She has written several worship songs for the worship team and helped produce a CD entitled “An Audience of One.”
Dawn enjoys her annual trip to the National Worship Leaders Conference where she attends seminars and brings back new ideas to implement on the worship team. She also leads a Life Group which meets in her home. Dawn is married to her husband, Shawn, who as a captain, works aboard ships traveling the Great Lakes. Together they have 4 children.
