Meet the Staff
Rev. Dave Pierce, Senior Pastor
Dave is a 1985 graduate of the Pastoral Training program at the Moody Bible Institute in Chicago, IL, and pretty much a life-long resident of Coldwater.
Prior to his call to pastor First Baptist Church he had been involved for 12 years with the church serving as Deacon, Sunday School teacher and various other roles and positions. He previoulsy pastored churches near Racine, WI and in Chicago, IL and worked in banking and real estate for a number of years. His experience in both the church and the "real world" of business is complimented by an active involvement in the local community over a number of years including Rotary, Relay for Life, and Chamber of Commerce events.
Dave and his wife, Karen have been married for close to 40 years and have 3 daughters and 1 terrific son-in-law; Jared and Amanda Jones who live in Kentwood, MI; Melissa Pierce residing in Chicago, and Lauren Pierce residing in Lansing. The Jones' have provided 5 grandchildren to round out the family!
Dave has a vision for a growing church where the relevance of the Bible and the need for a personal relationship with Jesus Christ are effectively communicated and that people are first "connected" with God and then encouraged and helped to grow into a vital relationship and become fully devoted followers of Jesus Christ.
Kevin Olrich, Youth Pastor
Kevin comes to FBC from Ortonville, MI, surprisingly a smaller town than Coldwater! Kevin received his formal education from Cornerstone University in Grand Rapids, Michigan, where he studied Youth Ministry and Bible.
While living in Grand Rapids Kevin was involved in many ministries and non-profits. He has run after-school programs, worked and interned with inner city ministries, and led small groups for his local church. Before joining FBC-Coldwater Kevin spent a summer in Rutland, VT working with a missions' organization that runs short term mission trips all across the USA and Canada.
Kevin has a passion for seeing students transformed to love God and others. It is his desire to be used by God to help students take it to the "Next Level" in their faith journey.
Russell Hickey, Financial & Administrative Manager
Russell comes to FBC from the Accounting Department at Asama Coldwater Manufacturing (ACM) after more than five years of service. While working at ACM he also served as General Manager of Phil's Driving School. Additionally, Russell has worked for hire locally providing clients with payroll, general ledger, and tax assistance. Russell has strong customer service management experience working with companies including Hyatt and Wyndham Hotels. His hotel background includes event planning and food and beverage experience. In addition to numerous other responsibilities Russell maintains the office computer network including the FBC website. Russell holds a business degree from Michigan State University (BA '97). He spent his childhood in Coldwater graduating from Coldwater High School in 1993. Russell had a successful running career at CHS with highlights including a Cross-Country State Championship and numerous All-American awards, he is the current Head Coach for CHS Cross-Country & Boys Track. Russell and Tasha have been married for fifteen years and have two beautiful daughters; Marena, 14 & Sara, 9. The Hickey family have been faithful FBC attendees since returning to Michigan in 2001.
